Succeeding to the 1st IEEE International Conference on Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments
( IEEE WAVE 2008 , http://groups.engin.umd.umich.edu/hpceep/wave2008/ ),
IEEE WAVE 2009 will be held on December 21-22, 2009 at the Tongji University, Shanghai, China by bringing together leading researchers, engineers and managers from Industry, Government and Academia to discuss both the issues and research in the areas associated with WAVE, Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC), Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANET), Intelligent transportation systems (ITS), Telemetric and IntelliDrive.
Concurrently, an Industrial and Commercialization workshop will be hold at Detroit, Michigan, USA with IEEE WAVE 2009, which provides an opportunity to communicate with professionals from American automobile industry.
Papers will be indexed by EI Compendex (pending). Accepted papers have the option to be published by the International Journal of Ultra Wide band Communications and Systems.

Topics
This conference will provide insights into the strategic direction and technical challenges facing Vehicular Information Industry. Authors are invited to submit original papers on the following topics related to vehicular communications and networks, but not limited to:

-Channel modeling, Signal Processing, Modulations, Coding, Adaptive Antenna, adaptive modulation, software defined radio, cognitive radio and MIMO applied to a vehicular environment;

-Medium Access Control Protocols, Routing Algorithms and Congestion Controls, Sources Allocation and Optimization, and Communications Protocols for real-time safety message and high-speed data transmissions;

-Security and Privacy issues for WAVE systems;

-Vehicle-to-vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure communications and networks, interoperation/integration with public networks and the Internet;

-Testbed/Prototype Activities for WAVE and ITS.
